Euphyllia are probably the most well known and popular LPS coral species. With long, flowing polyps and a wide range of bright, metallic colours, these corals lure many new victims into the hobby. Each species’ common name can be distinguished by the shape of its tentacles. Popular types you will find in aquariums include: Hammer coral (euphyllia ancora), torch coral (euphyllia glabrescens) and frogspawn (euphyllia divisa) and octospawn (euphyllia yaeyamaensis).
